Selecting a broker

To participate in a PrimaryBid offer, we require all users to have a General Investment Account with a broker. Without providing us with your broker details, we cannot facilitate your participation in an offer. We need you to supply us with a General Investment Account to transfer your shares should you receive an allocation.

Please note that we are unable to transfer shares to an ISA or SIPP account due to HMRC rules.

Providing us with your broker details is easy. During the account opening process you will be prompted to select your designated broker from a “drop down” menu. If you already have an account with us, you can add your broker details by going to 'Profile' then 'Broker Details'.

Additionally, please provide us with the account number of your General Investment Account.

PrimaryBid works collaboratively with many UK brokers to facilitate their client’s participation in PrimaryBid offerings. If we have not yet received permission from your broker to be added to our drop-down menu, you will not be able to select them as your designated broker during the account opening process.

The best recourse is to open a General Investment Account with a broker who is already on the drop-down menu. This can be found during the sign up process or by signing in and going to 'Profile' then 'Broker Details".

If you would like your broker added to our list, please contact your broker to discuss this.

You can change your broker details at any time by going to ‘Profile’ then ‘Broker Details’. However, please note that changing your broker details online does not take immediate effect.

Changing your broker details after you receive an Allocation Confirmation will only change the transfer destination of your shares for future offerings that you participate in and not the current offering that you have subscribed to.

Unfortunately, due to HMRC restrictions beyond our control, shares subscribed to individual investors after successfully participating in a PrimaryBid offer cannot be transferred directly into an ISA or SIPP account.

You can, however, receive them into your General Investment Account and transfer them immediately through a process called "Bed & ISA". If you wish to pursue this, you should contact your broker directly to discuss.

You can only have one broker on your account at any time.

We do not currently offer paper share certificates. All shares you may be allocated must be transferred into a General Investment Account.

If you do not have a broker, we are unable to transfer shares to you. You will need to open a General Investment Account with a broker in order to receive any shares allocated to you.

Yes. If your broker is already working with PrimaryBid, you can apply for shares directly through your broker. Please contact your broker for more details.

If your broker doesn’t work with us yet, ask them to join PrimaryBid!
